MIRAZUR RESTAURANT – MENTON, FRANCE
Three Italian grandparents and a Basque one. A Brazilian wife. Argentinian since birth. His first steps were in Buenos Aires, at the Colegio de Gastronomia Gato Dumas. His journey was full of important encounters: it was back in 2001 when he flew to Europe and became the game leader of Bernard Loiseau. He further moved to working with Alain Passard at the Arpege and finally ended up with Alain Ducasse at the Hotel Plaza Athénée. Further more he spent one year with Guy Martin at Le Grand Véfour. It was in 2006 when he began a new adventure by himself. For his restaurant, Mirazur, he choses Menton, in France, close to Italy. In between the mountains and the sea, he owns owed a vegetable garden full of fruit and citrus, vegetables, herbs and any other gift of the season. Here he felt free to research, experiment and study.
Few months later he received his first Michelin Star and he was appointed with The Revelation of the Year Award. In 2012 he received the second Michelin Star, becoming three Michelin Stars in 2019. In the same year, Mirazur was nominated first in The World’s Best restaurants ranking. He only uses local products arriving from his weekly meetings with farmers and small producers of the Ventimiglia market. His cuisine is light, colourful, contemporary. His cooking is an alchemy of inspiration and personal experiences. His cuisine is, in one word, joy.
And with the same feeling of joy that we will be opening the doors of our kitchen to Mauro Colagreco. The kitchen crew cannot wait to welcome and be part of this wonderful experience of INCREDIBLE VIVA!
